Hi! I’m Nicole,

When I started on this skincare journey 20 years ago, no one used the terms “clean” or “plant-based” to describe their products.

But even back then, it didn’t take me long to discover that the chemicals the beauty industry was touting as natural or anti-aging were anything but. Frustrated that I couldn’t find safer alternatives, I started experimenting with making my own products that were completely free of the toxic ingredients that I intuitively knew just couldn’t be good to slather on our largest organ.

Once I incorporated my own hand-crafted, non-toxic products into my treatments for clients, I saw a marked improvement in their satisfaction with their skin tone. Women who had previously struggled with feeling good about their skin actually liked what they saw in the mirror. And I felt good knowing that my clients weren’t being exposed to harmful chemicals.

Then, research began emerging about how our skin absorbs the endocrine-disrupting ingredients that are present in conventional skincare products...and the benefits of adopting a non-toxic skincare routine. What I had known in my heart and had informally tested with my clients turned out to be backed by scientific evidence—yay!

So I continued to follow my now scientifically-validated passion for holistic living and became obsessed with making the cleanest, most effective serums, cleansers, body butters and body washes on the planet…and Nicole Joseph Apothecary was born.

Using old-world techniques, my formulas are crafted weekly in small batches and packaged sustainably with a whole lot of love.
